Casa Cecilia lies on the slopes of the picturesque village of Espinaredo, surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery.
The property is a restored house in the small village of Espinaredo. The ground floor is open-plan and includes a well-equipped kitchen and a fireplace. Upstairs on the first floor, there's a double bedroom with a balcony with views to the mountains. A twin loft room is on the second floor, with sloped wood-beamed ceilings and a large window with views over the village.
Espinaredo, set up in the hills, is famed for having more "horreos" (traditional Asturian grain houses) than any other village in Asturias, some of them dating back to the 17th century. It's also known for the friendliness of its inhabitants. This area of Asturias, called Piloña, is a great location for enjoying fantastic scenery without the crowds that can be found in some parts of the Picos de Europa. But the Picos are still only a 30-minute drive away..
Espinaredo has two recreational forests nearby with picnic and barbecuing areas down by the river. There are numerous walking and cycling routes that begin from there too. Arriondas is about 25 km away and lies on the Sella river, great for canoeing, while the coast at Ribadesella is about 40 km away. Horseriding and mountain-biking can be organised nearby..
A bar in the village offers basic provisions and simple meals, while there's a larger restaurant just outside the village. A baker visits the village every day, and a butcher/fishmonger twice a week. More shops and supermarkets can be found in the town of Infiesto, 6 km away.
