El Llagar is an impeccably-restored cider-house in Naveda, a small village with fantastic views across an impressive valley.

A "Llagar" is a building where cider was traditionally produced and Asturian houses often had one. This one has been restored to create a very impressive property. The house has retained many of the original cider-house artefacts as part of the decoration. The living room has terracotta floors and a wood-burning fireplace, and the kitchen is decorated with hand-painted tiles showing Asturian rural activities. The bedrooms contain simple and attractive restored furniture.

Even more beautiful than the house are the views across to the mountains of the Sierra del Sueve and the Picos, which can be enjoyed from the good-sized garden or from the window of the en suite bedroom. There's also a covered barbecue area for enjoying an outdoor meal, whatever the weather.

Naveda is a small village in a picturesque valley with views across to the Sierra del Sueve and Picos de Europa. There's a bar/shop in the village which sells basic provisions whilst Villaviciosa, 12 km away, has plenty of supermarkets and restaurants. Rodiles, a 25-minute drive away, is one of the best beaches in Asturias. Pretty fishing villages and mountain villages are all short drives away. There are some rambling routes from the house and the property owners can also organise canoeing trips and mountain trekking with a guide.

This property has been awarded 3 "trisqueles", the highest rating assigned by the regional tourist board. They have a free midweek cleaning service and offer a laundry service and daily cleaning service for a fee.
