A peaceful and characterful cottage in one of the prettiest villages in Asturias, Casa Cuyar is a great place to escape to and explore the dramatic scenery of Piloņa.

Casa Cuyar is a beautifully-restored traditional Asturian villa in the village of Espinaredo. The village, set up in the hills, is famed for having more "horreos" (traditional Asturian grain houses) than any other village in Asturias, some of them dating back to the 17th century. It has been dubbed the "quintessential Asturian village" and has a friendly, hospitable air. This area of Asturias, called Piloņa, is a great location for enjoying fantastic scenery without the crowds that can be found in some parts of the Picos de Europa – but the Picos are still only a 30-minute drive away.

The property is beautifully decorated with much of the furniture having been restored by the owner. Downstairs there is an L-shaped living/dining room with a brick fireplace. The kitchen and utility room are well-equipped. There are three bedrooms - two twin bedrooms with views across the whole village and the orchard opposite, and a large double bedroom in the loft which has a woodburning stove and an en suite shower room. One of the twin bedrooms has a side room that could accommodate a cot or an extra child's bed, while the other has access to the wonderful wooden balcony to the front of the house. A daily cleaning service can be booked for an additional fee.

Espinaredo has two recreational forests nearby with picnic and barbecuing areas down by the river. There are numerous walking and cycling routes that begin from just outside the house. Arriondas is about 25 km away and lies on the Sella river, great for canoeing, while the coast at Ribadesella is about 40 km away. There's also a great open air pool 10 minutes away.

A bar in the village offers basic provisions and simple meals, and there's a larger restaurant just outside the village. A baker visits the village every day, and a butcher/fishmonger twice a week. More shops and supermarkets can be found in the town of Infiesto, 6 km away.
