Ground floor: Large open-plan room with four separate areas – kitchen, breakfast room, living room and dining room. Fireplace.

First floor: Five en suite bedrooms - three doubles and two twins.

Outside: Terrace and garden with table and chairs. Barbecue. Traditional "horreo". Parking. In the same grounds as AS023 La Llosa Pequeña, AS025 La Llosa II, AS026 La Llosa Mariñana I and AS027 La Llosa Mariñana II (although only La Llosa Pequeña is in view). Shared play area.

Set in beautiful countryside, La Llosa I is ideal for a large family or group looking for a relaxing holiday near the Asturian coast.

La Llosa I is one of the properties we have stayed at ourselves. It is the largest of five properties that lie on this 19th century "casería" (rural estate), but it is worth noting that only one of the other four is in view.

The house has a spacious living/dining/kitchen area with stone walls and terracotta tiles and a fireplace. Upstairs, all five bedrooms are en suite. Two of the rooms have a small mezzanine floor where an extra bed can be placed if required, while another of the twin rooms has 2 additional bunk beds.

The house has a terrace with table and chairs and there's a large shared garden with plenty of space. There's a play area with swings too. Next to Las Llosas is a Pick-Your-Own farm with a wide range of berries, and homemade ice-cream and jams for sale.

Although further from the Picos de Europa than some of our properties, La Llosa is in beautiful countryside and is less than ten minutes from the nearest beach - and still less than an hour from the Picos. It's a short drive from the busy market town of Villaviciosa which has an elegantly historic centre and many restaurants and cafés. The pretty fishing villages of Tazones and Lastres are nearby too.
