A quiet, comfortable retreat with stunning views, a short walk from one of the prettiest villages in Asturias.

La Huertuca is a 15-minute drive in from the coast towards the hilly interior of Asturias. The house has been recently constructed in the style of a traditional Asturian villa: solid stonework on the outside with chestnut wooden beams visible throughout on the inside, and the customary first-floor wooden terrace sporting beautiful views across to the Picos de Europa.

There are three spacious bedrooms, with the ground-floor bedroom (and shower-room) being suitable for wheelchair users or people with low mobility. Both first-floor twin bedrooms have doors on to the terrace. The kitchen is well-equipped and lies open-plan with the living and dining area which has a wood-burning stove in one corner. Outside, there is a covered porch with table and chairs, as well as a good-sized patio and lawn.

La Huertuca is situated 1 km from Torazo, voted the prettiest village in Asturias in 2008. Torazo is full of traditional Asturian rural architecture and there is an excellent bakery that bakes a local style of bread. There is also a small shop, a supermarket and a restaurant, as well as a new spa-hotel which is open to non-residents. The village is set high above the valley so there are wonderful views in all directions.

The historic market town of Villaviciosa is a 10-minute drive from the house. It has plenty of restaurants and other facilities and has a weekly market. Rodiles is a 20-minute drive away - one of the best-known beaches in Asturias which is renowned for surfing. The fishing villages of Lastres and Tazones are a also a short drive away.
