Accommodation
Ground floor: Open-plan kitchen/living/dining room. Fireplace. Double room with en suite shower room. Two twin bedrooms. Bathroom. An extra bed is available on request.
Outside: Private garden with table and chairs and barbecue. South-facing terrace. The owners' house is nearby. AS020 Casa del Monte and AS021 Casa Barru are in the same village.

Surrounded by glorious views across the valley to the mountains, this beautiful property makes the perfect retreat for a comfortable and energising break.
La Portiella lies above the small traditional village of Villa. The house is over 100 years old but has been carefully restored, keeping its original oak and chestnut beams and stone walls. There are beautiful views from all the rooms, whether it be the surrounding Caldueño valley, the Sierra del Cuera mountains beyond or the hillside forests.
The open-plan living area is spacious and homely, with a high-vaulted ceiling. It has access to a south-facing terrace from which to enjoy the views. The bedrooms and bathroom have been tastefully modernised. The house is very comfortable and well-equipped, with toys for small children, a cot and a high chair.
La Portiella is a quiet, relaxing retreat, whether you are looking for hearty walks in the hillside, or peaceful evenings on the terrace or by the fire. The proprietors live across the lane and speak good English and can offer advice on where to go. Their property is part of an organic farm and they are happy for helping hands to feed chickens, make hay or pick apples to make the local cider!
The property is also a mere 15-minute drive to the coast, with four or five good beaches to choose from. The pretty harbour town of Llanes is about half an hour away and there are good restaurants a five-minute drive from the house.
