About Asturias
The location was perfect for a restful holiday and the Asturian people really lived up to their reputation of being the friendliest in Spain. It suited all members of my family from the 'sporty' to the 'culture loving'. The holiday was almost better than we had anticipated and there was plenty to do in Asturias (with the occasional venture in Cantabria) to occupy everyone's interests for three weeks. We had a wonderful time and it has wetted our appetite for more of Northern Spain. Thanks for your assistance in locating and booking the property, we are already planning to return next year. We had never been to this part of Spain and will definitely come back again - beautiful! Countryside and beaches and really friendly people. Our children (toddler and baby) had so much attention that they found it difficult coming back to England! K Woodard

Region is fabulous - so natural and unspoilt so far, it offers something for everyone and fact that weather can be variable is a benefit. Nearby natural beaches were lovely, so too visits to Picos and to historic towns and cities. People generally friendly and helpful so if you can afford it go for longer than a week! Should add a portion warning on local restaurants - they give you a lot! New visitors shouldn't miss Tazones for eve fish/mariscos looking out onto harbour, but remember that evening meals start late in Asturias. C Newberry
Asturias and Cantabria are perfect holiday locations for families who want dramatic beaches and wonderful scenery. A truly Spanish experience. We loved Gijon and will return. I only hope this area of Spain remains undiscovered by the hordes of Brits heading south. Thanks again. M Bailey
A very enjoyable holiday. Asturias really is a beautiful area of Spain with plenty of nice quiet beaches, stunning mountain scenery, very friendly local people and great sidra to round off the day. S Cox
The area is beautiful with a choice of sandy beaches (from local and secluded to full-on holiday beach), mountains, small fishing towns and good shopping (e.g. Gijón) - what more could you ask for? M Meredith
Asturias is more beautiful than I imagined, and we completely fell in love with it! We did get to Tazones, on the first and last nights, and had a lovely meal both times, sampling some sidra along the way. All in all a great holiday, excellent value and very enjoyable. We will be back! N John
It was great being in a non touristy place. We had a great holiday and I would go back. Would recommend it to any one. The food and wine were great and just got better. The value and taste was so much better than home. K Harding

About our properties
We found the house without problems even though it was in a very rural location. The owners lived next door, and could not have been more helpful, even to the extent of repairing a mechanical fault on one of our vehicles free of charge! When I asked where I could buy a bar-b-que and some charcoal, the equipment appeared next day, again no charge. If I return to the area for a holiday, I would have no hesitation in staying at the same house again. G Clulee
A fantastic holiday, we fell in love with Asturias. Casa Ana was brilliant, as was Ana herself. Her free home-made cider was delicious and the newborn kittens were just gorgeous. Although it was early April, we just loved sitting in the garden surrounded by freesias, geraniums and other amazing flowers. We will definitely go back. J Fenby-Taylor
The property itself was super. Ana is a star. She baby sat for us about 8 times and charges us 70 Euros! The eggs and cider were free. M Bailey
We had an excellent holiday! The house was well equipped and clean and in a great location. A good base to explore the area. Ana looked after us very well (the breakfasts were delicious). The House was charming the location was idyllic and the equipment excellent. Ana and her family were extremely welcoming and kind they made our children and us feel very much at home. Furnishings were to a high standard as was the laundry/towels etc. Very rural location (which we liked) and a shared garden that was loved by the children who got to play with a range of extremely friendly new Spanish friends! The property owner was very friendly even with our distinct lack of conversational Spanish! M Meredith
Lovely property - beautifully built, furnished etc comfortable and homely. Everything well thought through and of highest quality. Ana has created a rustic paradise. Great to stay on a small farm, Ana is very kind and welcoming and our children had much fun playing with new puppy, feeding chickens, watching older dogs and cats interacting. We all made lots of use of the shared garden and felt totally at home. C Newberry

The location and spaciousness of the property and the view from the balcony exceeded our expectations. Much better than the pictures! We loved the horses in the field-they got so excited to see us. We really felt we were experiencing something of living like 'locals'. The house was spotlessly clean. The information on the markets was good to include and also the things that you could do locally which were not included in guide books eg seeing the horreos at Villa, El Fito, beaches etc. A Mascarenhas
Location was great - beautiful views, peaceful, handy for Infiesto, Arriondas and Oviedo, which we visited by train (only 18 euros for a family of 5, return, from Infiesto!) but only 50 minutes steady drive from Llanes. The house was very clean and well looked after. T Pearson

Very hard to think of anything that could be better. One negative point - my wife liked the cow bells so much she has attached one to our dog and it is driving me mental. Our visit confirmed that we want to move to the area asap. D Pepper
Spectacular location, comfortable accommodation. Beautiful terrace. The village atmosphere (cows, chicken, donkeys, cats) was very relaxing. We loved the place and would like to stay there again. P Sved

Lovely location for a holiday. Within ½ hr from the house you could be on the beach or walking along a Picos trail - definitely a good centre to enjoy the area without travelling any great distances. M Benford
Location was superb; a couple of nice bars within walking distance, 5 mins to the beaches, 5 mins to Llanes and it's facilities, 10 mins into the hills and 2 mins from the motorway. I think this was due to the conversations we had and the advice you gave. The only thing missing was a garden or terrace. Of course we knew that before we went, and you can't expect an apartment to have one. And we did have the bar downstairs to sit outside in, which was good fun. R Webb

BBQ area superb. Even sat 10 people comfortably when we had Spanish guests from Gijon visit. Las Fraguas is, indeed, a beautifully restored house. C Gardner

Off the beaten track but a good location for both the coast and Picos de Europa mountains. Great views from the property's terrace of surrounding hills - you can see why they call it green Spain. Lovely rustic feel to house and reasonably well equipped. S Cox
Casa del Monte is in a really lovely location. The décor and furnishings were very fresh and of good quality - often not the case in holiday homes. D Young
The location was excellent - quiet with stunning scenery and within 15 to 30 minutes drive from the house you could be at one of 30+ beaches, or if you spent a bit longer in the car you could be right up into the mountains - fabulous! P Mason
Would revisit and recommend this property and the village really represents rural Spain. Very enjoyable. Problem with bed was responded to quickly. DVD player a real plus late at night. T Sains
We loved Casa del Monte and the views from the terrace (particularly of an evening with a bottle of wine) were stunning. We loved the rustic nature of Villa. The house was very comfortable and in a beautiful spot. Ideally located for both the Picos and the coast. Just what we were looking for. We had an excellent 2 weeks - loved Casa del Monte, Villa and Asturias - walking in the Picos was outstanding - strongly recommend Teresa Farino's walking book as most of the walks are reasonably accessible from the house. The location was stunning, and so peaceful. We loved opening our door every morning and hearing the tinkle of cowbells - and also the herds of cows, sheep and goats who wandered past the house every day. The villagers were also friendly and gave us a wave every morning. And Oti was very helpful. It's a fantastic spot to explore the major towns of Cangas de Onis and Ribadsella. L Robertson
El Llagar was a tasteful little place, beautifully clean, and in a lovely rural setting. The views over to the Sierra Del Sueve, and Picos de Europa mountains from the bedroom window early in the morning were stunning. Please can you thank Maite for us. We had a lovely time! We had a wonderful time, Asturias really exceeded our expectations. We explored the coast and were very happy that we had chosen Cue as our base - the beach there was the best one we visited, in fact we ended up there every day! The apartment was lovely, very clean and tastefully furnished, and we really liked the village location. Excellent apartment, beautifully cared for by Ana Maria. The shop in the village was superb and we found the owners very helpful. The location, just off the main roads, made it very easy to visit the mountains, coastal towns and Oviedo. Friendly and helpful proprietor and lovely village. A superb location in the valley leading down to the sea. A great space around the property for the children to run about, with see saw and swings to amuse them. Ana was the hostess with the most-est. Nothing was too much trouble, and we were well looked after. A Fisher

Ana went out of her way to make us and the children feel welcome, show us around the farm and tell us about the area. We were given a tour of the cheese factory and were shown the cows at milking time as well as being treated to a couple of bottles of the home-brewed cider. J Hyland
We loved it - Ana was a darling - one of the loveliest people we've met on holiday - so hospitable and generous, the cottage was delightful - would have been cramped if we had taken our son with us - but for the three of us it was lovely. Excellent - the property was ideal for us, quiet and very well situated for a holiday that combined beach days and mountain walking. Mainly we cooked our evening meals, rather than eating out, reflecting the high quality of the fish, meat, veg, fruit etc that were readily and conveniently available in Posada. Ana was really nice and I enjoyed talking to her, though I wished my Spanish was better so that our conversations could have been longer! Juan Antonio was also very helpful and easy to talk to, though we only met him once - the cheese making obviously keeps them both very busy. (We enjoyed the cheese very much.) We certainly hope to go back to El Molin Pequeno another year. J Rowland

The holiday in Asturias was excellent. The accommodation was first class - the best equipped and presented self catering accommodation we have ever experienced. Isa and her family were very friendly and made every effort to make our stay an enjoyable one - a great challenge considering the language difficulties. I particularly liked the attention to detail in the accommodation - the matching towels in the bathroom, the matching bedlinen, the variety of leaflets indicating local attractions, the selection of games for our entertainment on wet days. The directions you gave to locate the place were spot on and we found the place with ease. All the dealings I have had with you have been very efficient and I have already recommended your company to several colleagues and friends. Thank you for a wonderful holiday. B Davies
We had a lovely week at Venta Los Probes I. We really liked the house, it was clean and it was lovely arriving to find plenty of towels, fresh flowers in the house, loo rolls, washing up liquid/washing powder and fresh fruit.
